Dasrath Manjhi, popularly known as the ‘Mountain Man’ is Aamir Khan’s latest inspiration.
Manjhi, who lost his wife due to lack of medical treatment in their village and hindered by the lack of a road to the next town with a hospital, carved a 360-foot-long path passing through a mountain in the Gehlour hills. This project of his took 22 years (1960 to 1982). By persevering, Manjhi reduced the distance between the Atri and Wazirganj blocks of the Gaya district. This feat brought him national acclaim. And now, the support of Aamir Khan.
In fact, Manjhi's life story was featured in season one of Aamir's show reality show Satyamev Jayate. Now, Aamir, who is all set to launch the second season of his show, will be visiting Gehlour in Bihar on February 22 to meet the Mountain Man’s family.
