The audio and trailer launch of Mr.Chandramouli was held at Sathyam Cinemas on Wednesday. Speaking at the audio launch, all the celebrities including Suriya remembered how actor Karthik used to be their childhood hero and the iconic ‘Mr.Chandramouli’ scene from Mani Ratnam’s Mounaragam.
However, producer Alagappan said that Gautham should follow Karthik in all aspects but when it comes to time management and punctuality, he should not be like his dad.
Alagappan said: “Directors used to search for Karthik at the shooting spot, Gautham should not be like that’ and this hurt the ego of Karthik, who quickly came to the stage when director Gaurav asked for a kiss. Karthik said: As soon as Gaurav asked for a kiss, I came to the stage because someone would tell me that I’m late for this too”, the actor also added that he has done 150 films in his career. “I was wondering If it’s me or someone else who completed those films”, said Karthik.
The stage became very emotional then Gautham Karthik said: “As a kid, I did not get much opportunity to watch my dad perform but with Mr.Chandramouli, it has become true. Dad, I only want to keep signing as many films you can”. Karthik emotionally said: “I never had the opportunity to work with my dad but I had a similar experience by sharing screen space with Gautham”.
The makers screened two songs including a sizzling number Yedhedho Aanene featuring the glamorous Regina Cassandra and a peppy number ‘Rajathi Raja’ composed by Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame. Suriya’s sister Brindha has crooned the title track of Mr.Chandramouli, it’s her debut song in a feature film. The trailer of the film was well packed with all necessary elements to attract family audiences.
