Music director SS Kumaran, whose rich experience in the film industry seems to have given him the courage and the wisdom to turn a director, is a content man today.
His satisfaction is evident even as Thaneer Viduthi, his first film as director, gears up to hit screens in a short while from now.
Commenting on why he chose to turn director, Kumaran says, "I've been in the industry for a long time and have studied every department of film making. I have composed songs for hits and flops as well. So, when I realized that I could analyze all the elements of cinema, I decided why not make a movie myself?"
His movie Thaneer Viduthi (Tea Shop) features Aadith and Reshmi of Inidhu Inidhu fame in the lead roles.
While Aadith plays a pandalkaran (a person renting out shamianas for functions) , Rashmi plays the daughter of a registrar, who hates alcoholics.
Ask him why he chose the title Thaneer Viduthi and he replies, "The hero meets the heroine in the tea shop. In fact, that is where they become aware that they are in love. Hence, this title. The movie is a family entertainer which will be fresh."
