After producer P.L.Thenappan backed out of Njan Kadavul due to budget constraints, director Bala has been looking around for a new hero to replace Ajit. The latest we hear is that Narain of Chithirem Pesuthadi is the front runner for the coveted role.

In a section of press, it was reported that Suriya will replace Ajit but when contacted, he said: “I would love to work in Bala sir’s film but now I am busy with Jillendru Oru Kathal and will be doing Gautham Menon’s film next followed by a film by Ramgopal Varma. So I can’t even think of doing this film at the moment”.

Bala wants someone who can give him 120to 130 days and that too immediately. Arya was sounded but after completing Auto, he has given dates to director Saran who is producing his own film. Meanwhile Narain who had made an impressive debut in Chithirem Pesuthadi has met Bala. His only commitment is to Thankar Bachchan’s Pallikoodam, and hence it will not be a problem for him to give priority dates to the ace director.

Bala is confident about his script and feels that Narain has the potential to make it big in Kollywood. Remember that it was he who made a star out of Vikram and Suriya.
