Nayanthara is on cloud nine. 2013 was a fantastic year for the actress, who made a terrific comeback after a sabbatical. Nayan had back to back super hits Raja Rani and Arrambam regaining her position as numero uno heroine in Tamil.
The high point was on Saturday (Jan 4) evening at Raja Rani 100 day’s celebration, when she received her trophy from Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. She was glowing in a brown Chiffon saree designed by Poornima Indrajith and was seen proud and happy to be associated with Raja Rani, a film very close to her heart.

A very happy Nayanthara said : “Raja Rani and Regina the character I did in the film is very close to my heart, as it is my comeback film. The role was well conceived by Atlee and everything fell into place and the movie went on to become a super hit. What more can I ask for?”
And for Diwali there was Arrambam with her favourite co-star Ajith. Vishnuvardhan was able to make the on-screen chemistry between the two crackle, without any romantic scenes. She even openly admitted recently in an interview saying “Ajith sir is the most handsome actor” that she had worked with.
Today (Jan 6) Nayanthara starts shooting for her Pandiraj directed untitled film in which Silambarasan is her hero in Chennai. It is almost seven years after Vallavan, that Nayan agreed to do a film with Simbu. She took up the role because it is challenging. Of ‘course she was paid a bomb for signing up the film.
Meanwhile the actress’s next release in Tamil will be Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal, where she is paired opposite Udayanidhi Stalin. It is a romcom where she has a pivotal role.
Later in March end her Anamika , the remake of Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani and directed by Telugu filmmaker Sekhar Kammula is hitting the screen. In Tamil she also has Jayam Ravi’s untitled film directed by Jayam Raja.
In fact 2014 is going to be bigger for her than 2013 as more releases are lined up in Tamil and Telugu. Nayan is also planning to sign up some more biggies this year.
