The Tamil New Year in April is usually a flurry of activity with some big movies releasing every year.

But according to media reports and trends in the industry, no movie of any big stars has been announced for release, apart from Udayanidhi Stalin’s debut acting venture Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.

But now there’s good news for film buffs. Nayanthara one of the biggest of the contemporary star divas will be having a release on April 13th.

The film is Sri Ramarajyam, the dubbed Tamil version of the super hit mythology Balakrishna – Nayan Telugu starrer which ran successfully in Telugu.

The film showcases a demure and pretty Nayan who plays Sita and who swept the audiences off their feet with her magnificent portrayal of the mythological character.

200 prints are being released in Tamil by Future Films. Piraisoodan has written the lyrics and dialogues while Chinmayi has dubbed for Nayan and SPB for Balakrishna.

“The super success of the age old epic Karnan in recent times has prompted us to release our movie in Tamil,” says Kiran J of Fortune Films. Ilayaraja’s music is going to be a big draw apart from the sheer grandeur of the sets and the large scale extravaganza of the film.
