Aashique 2 was a big hit film in Bollywood. Bandla Ganesh remade this film in Tollywood titled as Nee Jathaga Nenundali. This film has Sachin Joshi and Nazia in the lead.
Let?s get to the story line of this film?
Raghav Jairam (Sachin) had a rich time as a pop icon not long ago. But that is a thing of past now. His career is diminishing. He chances upon Gayatri (Nazia) at a bar in Goa, singing his numbers. Raghav recognizes talent and promises one to the industry.
As promised Gayatri becomes a singing sensation. Raghav and Gayatri fall in love. But Raghav is an alcoholic and has rash nature. Does Gayatri?s success affect Raghav? Does he give up alcohol? What happens to their relation? All these form the rest of the film.
Like in the original the music is the big plus in this film. The tunes are old but do have a nice touch to it. Visuals are stunning and camera work kind of elevates the film.
Sachin Joshi has definitely improved when compared to his previous films. It is Nazia?s first film and she is not a match to the role that was originally done by Shradda Kapoor. Rao Ramesh does good cameo and Sashank has lent adequate support.
Since it is a remake you will definitely make comparisons with the original. Like we say original is always original, this remake version definitely lacks the punch. The chemistry is not all that sizzling. The story of the film is also not that captivating.
This is a slow film with good music. Editing of the film is good and dialogues are mediocre. Some emotional scenes are too much to handle. The director has not tampered the story much when comparing it with the original.
Music and good production values are the plusses of the film.
Overall, Nee Jathaga Nenundali' is now here close to the original Aashiqui 2.
Verdict: Slow, but watchable
