The audio launch of Neer Paravai, the next offering from Udayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, was a grand, emotional and classy affair at the Satyam cinemas last evening.

The film is the second of National Award winning director Seenu Ramasamy so expectations are naturally high. The trailer and one song, Para para, were shown. The audience was completely wowed by the visual artistry of cameraman Balasubramaniam and NR Raghunanthan’s music came in for praise. The song has been sung by GV Prakash and has only instrumentals in a melodious tune shot in montage on the lead pair in a fishing hamlet.

For actor Vishnu, this is a much awaited litmus test and his day was made when his director publicly announced, “Vishnu will win a National Award for this film.”
The audio was launched by Harris Jayaraj and AR Murgadoss in the presence of all dignitaries invited, which was indeed a long list of well wishers from the industry. Apart from hero Vishnu, the two heroines, Sunaina and Mano Charitra were present as were Saranya, Vadivakarasi and Black Pandi from the cast.

Vairamuthu was all praise as were the other speakers, for Udayanidhi choosing this project and taking it to completion, despite there being some differences initially with the director. AR Murgadoss said that Vishnu had a bright future and that he was eager now to see the film after seeing the trailer.  Susindran recalled that for the shoot of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu also, Vishnu had had an injury and it was the same for this film. “Perhaps that’s a sign that this film too will bring him kudos like Vennila did,” quipped Susindran.

The story is set in Manaparai and surrounding areas and the crew had to sweat it out quite literally in the hot sun and salty winds from the seashore for the movie which is set in a fishing village. The lead pair have gone through an immense make over for the movie and the effects were clearly seen on screen. Samudrakani and Nandita Das who have important roles, were conspicuous by their absence.

The guest speakers included Vijay Sethupathy, Shanthnoo, Prithvi, Sashi, Ponvannan, Sundar C, Pandiraj, Rajesh, Balu Mahendra and others. Co producers Shenbagamurthy and Arjundurai were also spotted. Seenu declared that any success credited to this movie should go entirely to Udayanidhi for having confidence in such a project.
