A new web series starring city teens talking in street lingo about safe sex, STDs and pregnancy is to air on Thursday.

'More Than Just Sex' features five public service announcement-styled videos on the popular site Vimeo.com where baby-faced actors use terms like "raw dogging" to describe not wearing a condom.

"Teens talk with slang," the New York Daily News quoted Anthony Murray, one of several teens working with the non-profit Community Health Network as saying.

"We don't want to sound phony using too much medical terms," he said.

Murray stars in the "Importance of Condoms" debating not using one with a smiling gal pal.

At the end of the 100-second spot, a list of diseases, including "baby mama drama," fill the screen.

"We want people to listen and retain the message," Patsy Garcia, who co-wrote "Importance of Condoms", said.

According to a state Department of Health spokesperson, CHN received 563,455 dollars over five years to educate high-school aged kids about the perils of sex.

CHN official Michelle Perlman said it paid 15,000 dollars for video production including a professional director and editor.

"We wanted to have an impact, that was going to be quick and easy," Perlman said.

"We want people to be like 'whoa'," she said.

Assemblyman Rafael Espinal said the videos "capture the realities of what is happening in inner-city neighbourhoods like the ones I represent."

However, the raw-dog themed video, "shouldn't be accessible to children under 13," as "the language is too raw." (ANI)
