Nicki Minaj, who was chosen alongside Ricky Martin to front MAC's Viva Glam 2012 campaign last year, is now taking over the reigns solo.

For the 2013 campaign, the pop star pouts a brand new pastel lavender colour for Viva Glam - the lipstick and lipglass that sees 100 percent of the sale price donated to help fight HIV and AIDS.

Spearheading the MAC Aids Fund, the 29-year-old's new lipstick, called Viva Glam Nicki 2, will go on sale February 9th, benefiting the campaign that has raised 270 million dollars for HIV/Aids-related causes since 1994.

Nancy Mahon, Global Executive Director of the MAC Aids Fund, said that they chose Minaj for a second time around because of her "incredible star power."

"She regularly speaks publicly about HIV, and her uncle died of Aids in Trinidad," the Daily Mail quoted Mahon as saying.

"People aren't going to listen to their mother about this kind of stuff, but they will listen to a rock star... she helps to destigmatize Aids," she said.

No stranger to MAC products, Minaj has already collaborated with the make-up brand, when she launched the Pink Friday lip shade in 2010.

The bright, bubble-gum pink hue was named after the artist's platinum-selling debut album, and became an instant bestseller. (ANI)
