To avoid confusion and unnecessary clash in the trade, leading young generation producers have rescheduled their release plans.
After theater owners announced an indefinite strike against the double taxation in Tamil Nadu, release schedule of several Tamil films got affected that nearly four mid-budget films including Vikram Vedha, Kootathil Oruthan, Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum and Pandigai were slated to release on July 14.
Among these four films, Sashikanth, producer of Vikram Vedha has now officially announced that his film hit the screens on July 21. SR Prabhu, producer of Kootathil Oruthan tweeted "We are pushing our film #KootathilOruthan to 28th July. Hope this helps in solving release issues among producers”.
Similarly, Mahesh of Auraa Cinemas, distributors of Kreshna’s Pandigai pushed his film from July 7 to July 14 only to help two Tamil films—Ivan Thanthiran and Vanamagan, which were affected by theater owners’ strike.
