How does it feel now that Poda Podi has released? Due you feel bad about the delay?
Of course I did feel bad that the film was delayed for so long. But now it’s all a thing of the past. I feel great to see the reaction of people.
You have been touted as the next big thing in Kollywood. Excited?
I am nervous. I was curious to see people’s reaction and now I am relieved.
How was it working with Simbu, especially in the dance scenes?
He was very helpful throughout the filming. Of course doing the dance scenes with him made me nervous as he is such an established dancer. But he was so friendly, he made me very comfortable.
Were you happy to play a dancer in the film as you are a dancer yourself?
Yes, the film and Nisha’s character is very much like me in real life. She loves dance just as much as I do in real life! I have done ten years of salsa so it was very helpful while doing the film.
Did you do any preparation?
The director asked me to be natural and told me to do scenes just as I would have done it. Director Vignesh Sivan was very good and patient. Even if several takes were needed, he would be ok with it.
What did your father Sarathkumar say after seeing your film?
Appa said he liked my performance in the film.
You are already doing your next film with Vishal. Tell us about that.
Yes, its MGR directed by Sundar C. I play a modern city girl. Vishal and Anjali are in the cast.
