Movie Title

Njangalude Veettile Adhithikal

Director

Siby Malayil

Star Cast

Jayaram, Priyamani

It doesn?t take much thinking to realize that most of Jayaram?s characters are as predictable as the tea that is usually served in our trains. It?s mostly bland, repetitive and churned up without much effort.

But then, there is no point in blaming him alone for the mishap called Njangalude Veettile Adhithikal. All you feel while wasting 130 minutes of your life watching this inane misadventure, made by veteran director Siby Malayil, is sheer disbelief on how can someone think of making a film with this pathetic script!

Manoj (Jayaram) is a successful criminal lawyer, who is actively involved in realty business as well. His wife Bhavana (Priyamani) lives in a world of books and longs for her husband?s caring. By the time the title ends, their daughter dies in a fatal car accident.

More than a year after the tragedy, Bhavana is still angry that Manoj?s carelessness was the cause for the accident. She now has some psychological issues, like schizophrenia and hallucination.

Bhavana imagines that Manoj is having some adulterous relationships and to take revenge, she starts doing things on her own. One of her escapades is writing love letters for a criminal named Rajan (Kalabhavan Shajon), who turns a new leaf and is desperately in love with her!

The less said the better about this film and the script, which is painstakingly amateurish. In a desperate effort to make it all look serious some heavy-duty lines from a few celebrated books are delivered by the characters and it takes matters from bad to worse.

This one could easily rank among the worst films from Siby Malayil, who has made some terrific movies in the past. The uncanny resemblance of some scenes to the classic movie Manichithrathazhu is interesting for sure. The visuals are fine but the music rarely appeals.

Jayaram repeats his trademark antics, once again. Priyamani and the rest of the cast struggles to present their badly written roles convincingly.

There is no point in mincing words, Njangalude Veettile Adhithikal tests the patience of the viewer big time. Watch it at your own risk please!
