In an official statement, Tamil Film Producers Council has clearly mentioned that there will not be any film shoot, filmi events, trailer release, teaser release, press meets, post-production works from March 16. Units who are currently staying outside Tamil Nadu can have the liberty to shoot until March 23.
TFPC has also made it clear that producers shouldn’t issue paper advertisements, which means there will not be any film-related news and updates in popular media outlets until the strike gets over.
Meanwhile, not only single screens, popular multiplexes are also witnessing lowest occupancy ever. Though multiplexes and single screens outside Chennai have announced strike against Tamil Nadu Government’s local box entertainment tax, multiplexes in Chennai have decided to play other language movies from March 16.
