Oscar Ravi has played Good Samaritan to producers ‘Dreambridge Productions’ of Chithirem pesuthadi. Using his industry clout, Ravi has re-released the film all over Tamilnadu last Friday (March 3).
This Mysskin directed film has Narain and Bhavana in the lead and the film received fairly good reviews among the audience and media. The film first released on February 10, flopped due to lack of publicity and theatres were forced to stop screening it.
After seeing the film, Oscar saw a potential goldmine in it and took the daring decision to re-release the film in better theatres, boosted publicity and put up new vinyl hoardings in the city. The super hit song “Vazha Meenu…” sung and enacted on screen by ‘Gana’ Ulaganathan is already a big hit among audience in B and C stations.
On Friday at Chennai’s Devi Paradise theatre, the film ran to houseful collections and noon and matinee shows in Coimbatore and Tirupur reported a 92 percent collection.
The word-of-mouth is encouraging and it looks like ‘Oscar’ Ravi has done the impossible of making a flop film a hit due to his aggressive marketing.
