Cast: Vishal,Kajal Agarwal
Singers: Shashaa Tirupathy, Divya Kumar
The album’s best track! ‘Silukku Marame’ ticks all the boxes straightaway. The singers, Shashaa in particular, elevating the tune instantly. The arrangements are unique & Vairamuthu’s lyrics sound fresh as ever. The charanam overtakes the pallavi in terms of catchiness. Good Listen!
Yaar Indha Muyalkutty
Singers: Armaan Malik
‘Yaar Indha Muyalkutti’ is typical Immanish! There are shades of ‘Verasa Pogaiyile’ in the arrangements and Vairamuthu’s lyrics stand out especially. Armaan Malik does a neat job with the vocals making it the album’s second best song!
‘Marudakaari’ is a peppy number where we see Diwakar carrying the whole song on his shoulders. However, the tune needed a bit more spice to have appealed instantly. Repeated listening & visuals, should make this track work.
Naa Soodana Mogini
Singers: Jyoti Nooran
‘Naa Soodana Mogini’ is template in every sense which doesn’t add much value to the album. The entire track hardly manages to engage us. Give it a miss!
Puli Puli Paayumpuli
Singers: Malgudi Subha
The title track! ‘Puli Puli Paayumpuli’ is more of a track that would be played along the background during a fight montage. Malgudi Subha makes a comeback after quite some time. The track is visual oriented which doesn’t offer much to the listeners.
On the whole, ‘Paayum Puli’ is an album which has two tracks that work. The remaining tracks pass muster. One hopes the screenplay is racy enough & make up for the remaining tracks to grab the viewer’s attention.
