Director Perarasu who directed two blockbuster films ‘Thiruppachi’ and ‘Sivakasi’ with Vijay has recently said “Nowadays directors should also be a qualified lawyer to tackle plagiarism cases” and hinted on the recent Sarkar story theft issue.
Perarasu is a well-wisher of Thalapathy Vijay and he is also one of the members of South Indian Film Writers Association headed by Baghyaraj who recently gave a statement that the story of Murugadoss’ Sarkar is lifted from Varun’s Sengol.
Perarasu seems to be one among the six executive members who opposed Baghyaraj’s decision. We also came to know that senior director Vikraman also sent a letter to Baghyaraj saying that the stories of Sarkar and Sengol are different.
Producer Shibu Thameens tweeted “Many ppl can hve similar concept, but thn brought to screen by own writng, screnplay,Dir @ARMurugadoss, hero @actorvijay of @sunpictures is a prodct of its own. Not only#sarkar,no muvs shud put into any controversy at the last moment, cause it's life of lots ppl worked to reality
Telugu producer Tagore Madhu also supported Murugadoss on Twitter, he wrote "On both personal & professional fronts,I hv travelled with AR Murugadoss, more than anyone else. In last 18 years I hv produced 5 films with him.A genius & a highly disciplined film maker, he never arrived late, ever in 18 years even once,be it script discussion or a shoot or post. He is a very hardworking man when it comes to writing scripts. I know how much passion he has and how much he struggles to create each of his stories, scenes, like his own babies.HE WRITES HIS OWN SCRIPTS! Plain and Simple. There is NO second thought about him”.
Varalakshmi who plays an important role in Sarkar posted “I stand with my director @ARMurugadoss sir..the truth shall prevail..truth always wins..time will tell”. The important hearing on the plagiarism row is scheduled today in Madras High Court.
