The Dhanush starrer Polladhavan, directed by Vetrimaran is slowly turning out to be the Diwali dark horse. On Tuesday (November13), a working day the average collection for the film in seven huge Chennai screens was an impressive 78 percent. AVM Rajeswari reported three out of it's four shows as 'Houseful' !
The word of mouth for the film is very good and it is emerging as the front runner in Chennai city, Chengalpet (part of NSC area) and Coimbatore. The trade says it may not do well in B & C due to excessive violence, but other sources say that it is going to pick up in Madurai, Salem and TK after Diwali.
The Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi saw a special preview of the film in Chennai and is said to have raved about it. He may purchase the Telugu remake rights for his son Ramcharan Teja, who made an impressive debut last month with Chiruta.
Dhanush's father-in-law, the superstar himself saw the film only after its release, and is said to have told the producer and director of the film: "Everything fell into a groove because of the story, packaging and impressive performances by all the actors including Dhanush.”
