Poorna to be the new Chattakkari

Shamna Kasim aka Poorna will play the lead role in the remake of the 1974 classic Chattakkari, originally directed by K S Sethumadhavan.
The new version will be directed by his son, Santhosh Sethumadhavan.
Chattakkari was originally produced by M O Joseph of Manjilas and was made in Hindi as Julie.
The film, scripted by Thoppil Bhasi based on Pamman’s novel, had Lakshmi and Mohan as the lead pair.
Hemanth, who was introduced by Fazil in Living Together and was seen in Dr.Love, will play the male lead in the new project.
The remake is being produced by G Suresh Kumar of Revathy Kalamandir, who had also produced Neelathamara and Rathinirvedam. Both the films were big hits.
The shooting of the film will start next month.
