After so many years in the industry and seeing success and failures in his career, Prabhu Deva is anxious, tensed and is keeping his fingers crossed.
His Ramaiya Vastavaiya a remake of Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (which was remade in Tamil as Something Something) his first film as director and a mega Telugu blockbuster in 2005 is releasing on Friday (July 19) worldwide.
In Bollywood, where he has directed Wanted and Rowdy Rathore, two action thrillers, media is hyping it as “Prabhu Deva’s first romantic musical”.
Prabhu spoke to sify.com
with a smile: “People forget that I am a choreographer first and songs come in a film when romance happens. I am very anxious about audience reaction to this film”
“I showed Ramaiya Vastavaiya
to few of our friends including Boney Kapoor, Sridevi and producer’s family. Everyone appreciated the second half more. Our hero Girish is genuinely a very nice-hearted boy and 10 minutes into the film, audiences are going to love him on screen. Shruti has also worked very hard and the songs are chartbusters”, adds Prabhu.
Prabhu who is busy in promoting the film is enjoying every bit of it and says: “ I wish actors, directors and producers in south start following the Bollywood way by spending so more energy, time and money for promoting their films as much as they invest in making it”.
