Actor Prasanna, whose Kalyana Samayal Saadham has been doing well at the box-office, is impressed with actor Vimal, his co-star in Puli Vaal, the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit Chaappa Kurishu.

“Not many people know this but Vimal is a guy who actually offered to give Rs 85 lakh to a producer in whose film he had acted. The actor chose to silently forfeit his salary when he got to know that one of his producers was struggling to release his film because of lack of funds,” Prasanna said while interacting with the media at a press conference called by the Puli Vaal team.

“One other quality of his which I find difficult to emulate is his ability to remain calm and composed even under difficult circumstances. For instance, once, while we were shooting for Puli Vaal, we had a long schedule and were resting when an assistant came rushing in with the news that an auto had rammed into Vimal’s vehicle, a Fortuner. I was agitated and wanted to know about the extent of  damage to the vehicle. Vimal, on the other hand, was unperturbed. He woke up for a minute and told his assistant that he would take a look after he got up. I was stunned.

“Later, when we were heading to shoot an important chase sequence, we took a look at the vehicle. It was in bad shape. I was aghast but Vimal calmly turned towards the assistant to ask if the vehicle was insured and when he realised it was, he softly asked his assistant to send it to them.  He then continued to work as if nothing had happened.

“When I asked Vimal if he wasn’t agitated, Vimal replied,’What can we do about these things? We can’t fight with the auto driver, can we? Let it go.’ ” Then, he continued to focus on work without worrying about his vehicle.”.

Pulivaal is produced by Radhikaa Sarath Kumar and Listin, directed by Marimuthu and has music is by Raghu Nandhan. It releases in January and the cast also has Oviya, Ananya, Ineya, Soori and Thambi Ramaiah.
