The left wing activists on Friday submitted a memorandum to the State Human Rights Commission seeking a ban on the film Badmash directed by Vandemataram Srinivas and starring debutant Naga Siddarth.
The CPI (ML New Liberation) state leader Bora Subash said that the film was a bane to the society, encouraging the youth to tread the wrong path towards drugs, booze and womanizing.
He wondered as to how the Censor board could clear the film with so much of obscenity. He said that as the appeal with the Censor board had failed, they approached the SHRC. Earlier, Vandemataram Srinivas denied that there was anything acrimonious in the film that would adversely influence the youth.
