Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold dies

[USA] July 22(ANI): Pulitzer Prize-Winning food critic, Jonathan Gold, has died at the age of 57.

Gold's wife, Laurie Ochoa informed that Jonathan died of pancreatic cancer in Los Angeles on Saturday, after first being diagnosed with the disease earlier this month, reported the Hollywood Reporter.

He wrote for the Los Angeles Times and had previously written for LA Weekly and Gourmet, apart from being a regular on KCRW's Good Food radio program.

The American food critic often chose small, ethnic restaurants for his reviews, although he covered all types of cuisine. He also authored the book Counter Intelligence: Where to Eat in the Real Los Angeles.

In 2007, he became the first food critic to win the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.

He is now survived by his wife Laurie Ochoa and two children. (ANI)
