Sexy Durga gets rave reviews

There are widespread protests coming up against the alleged decision of the I & B ministry to exclude Malayalam film S Durga from the Indian Panorama at the forthcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) at Goa.

S Durga, incidentally is the shortened title of director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s Sexy Durga. The title had to be changed to get the film certified by the Censor Board, as per reports.

It is believed that S Durga and Marathi film Nude were removed from the Indian Panorama, after the jury selected both the films. This has created a controversy which has resulted in the resignation of jury chairman Sujoy Ghosh and member Apurva Asrani.

Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has approached court against the decision.

The director has decided to opt out of the forthcoming International Film Festival of Kerala as well, perhaps in protest against the category to which the film was selected.

S Durga has won the Hivos Tiger award in the International Film Festival at Rotterdam this year.
