R. Chandru turns producer with Charminar starring Nanapirali Prem and Meghana Goankar, which releases in theatres on 8th February.
The director, who has made successful films like Taj Mahal, Mylaari for other producers, has also tasted failures in Ko Ko which had Kitty and Priyamani in the lead. But he is regarded as a director who is known for well-paced screenplays with emotional content. He has a good taste for good song picturisations too.
Chandru says that he has not compromised in the making of the film and the songs composed by debutant Hari from Andhra Pradesh have been chartbusters. The Radhe Radhe song has been occupying the top position in charts. He is confident that Charminar being a romantic story will strike an emotional chord with an audience of all age groups.
The film's hero Nenapirali Prem says that he has four shades in his character starting from a student to being a responsible husband. "I had to work hard to get the right track of emotions in the role for which the behavioural pattern changes in different age groups. I will give full credit to Chandru for extracting the best in me. For me the role is most demanding and challenging in my whole career," says Prem.
For the heroine Meghana this is the biggest jump from being a lead actress of small budget films with not so popular heroes. But Chandru assures us that Meghana has given her best in the film.
