The Amma Appa Guru Deivam show was one of the most warmly conducted shows in recent times.

Every film personality who came to the event felicitating Raghuram Master’s 50 years in the industry, did so with a heartfelt sincerity which showed. Apart from songs by Haricharan and dances by celebs like Oviya, Dhansikaa, Shanthnoo, Sandhya, Vijaylakshmi, Poorna, Gayathri Raghuram and Suja Manoj, it was best wishes galore from several Kollywood biggies.

K Balachander, KS Ravikumar, Kala master, Vasanth, Nanda, Vijaykumar, KS Murlidharan, Namitha, Madhumita, Satyajothi Thiagarajan, KR, MS Viswanathan, Sivaji Prabhu, Editor Mohan, Krishna, Poornima Bhagyraj and Karthi were amongst those who attended and spoke about their close association with the renowned dance master.

First Kasturi and later Suhasini compered the show in their inimitable style with Suhasini giving invaluable insights and behind the scenes info making the event even more interesting.

A short AV was shown about Raghuram master’s  antecedents and achievements in the industry. K Balachander read out a message from Superstar Rajnikanth who was unable to attend since he is shooting in Kerala.

Kamal Hassan spoke about the dance guru in an AV which was screened. Before the grand finale, Sivakumar gave away a lifetime achievement award to his close friend and associate in the presence of producer KR. Recalling his early days in the industry Sivakumar revealed how he had danced to the instructions of Raghuram in difficult mythological films.

He also narrated his illustrious link as grandson of the late producer director K Subramaniam who was the leading luminary of his time in Tamil cinema.
The grand finale was an emotional moment for the entire Raghuram clan as the master himself danced to a song along with his daughters and grandchildren and all those artists who had performed on stage.

It was such an enthralling moment that even compere Suhasini was tempted to shake a leg with the veteran. The entire show was managed by Jaya TV and will be telecast on the channel shortly.
