The shooting for 3 songs of Raja Huli, the Kannada remake of the Tamil hit Sundarapandiyan, was completed recently. The shooting for the talkie portion of the movie was completed last month.
Produced by K Manju, the movie features Yash and Meghana Sundar Raj in the lead roles. While one is an introductory song on Yash, the remaining two are duet songs. The introductory song was shot with some of the best folk dance troupes of Karnataka in the historical places, such as Melkote and Srirangapatna.
Veteran music director Hamsalekha has composed 5 original tracks for the movie while K M Vishnuvardhan is the cinematographer. Veteran actor Charan Raj is staging a comeback to Kannada through this film. One song will be shot in Bangalore.
The dubbing, re-recording and editing of the movie, which is directed by Guru Deshpande, is currently on. Raja Huli is the 32nd project of well-known producer K Manju.
Daughter of well-known character actors Sundar Raj and Pramila Joshai, the female lead, Meghana Raj, has acted only in a handful of Kannada movies. If the movie is commercially successful, Meghana could establish a market in Karnataka. Yash had a good outing in 2012 and was part of director Yogaraj Bhat’s blockbuster Drama, based on the theme of comedy.
His latest movie Googly has received a good opening at the BO.
The support star cast of Raja Huli includes Harsha, Chikkanna, Ashwini and others. The movie will be released in theatres by year end.
