From assisting K Raghavendra Rao to directing serials, S S Rajamouli has come a long way. Student No. 1 was his first film, way back in 2001. Since then he has been firmly on the path of success.
He dabbled in various genres in 12 years of career - sports movie(Sye, first Telugu film based on rugby, sport lovers will never forget the nail-biting climax of Sye), sentiment movie (Chatrapathi), revenge drama (Vikramarkudu, which was also successfully remade in Kannada, Tamil and Hindi), fantasy graphical extravaganzas (Yamadonga, Magadheera, and Eega), & comedy (Maryada Ramanna).
Magadheera was game changer for him. It was a phenomenal movie, which brought him many laurels from all quarters.
Rajamouli has his own concoction for success. Initially, he used masala approach, but after Yamadonga the director created his own panache sans the masala. His films now get U certification.
Apart from director Shanker, Rajamouli is the only commercial film director who mastered the use of gfx, visual effects in Indian cinema. Rajamouli celebrates his 39th birthday on Wednesday.
He is now getting all the praise from national media for Makkhi, the Hindi version of Eega. Very soon he plans to make a straight Bollywood film after finishing his proposed high-budgeted period drama with Prabhas in Telugu. Though no details are being divulged now.
Rajamouli today is pride of Telugu film industry.
