Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan is due for release on May 9. The promotions for the film are on a low key, as Rajinikanth is now in Mysore shooting for his KS Ravikumar directed Lingaa.
However Latha Rajinikanth and daughter Soundarya, the director of the film have stepped up the promotions of the film. Latha and Soundarya kickstarted the promotions at the ‘NDTV Indian of the year’ awards in New Delhi, where Soundarya was honoured with the award for Technical Innovation in Films.
Soundarya made the famous statement: "Animation is not cartoon and Kochadaiiyaan is not a cartoon. It captures actions.” Later in Chennai Latha Rajinikanth gave select interviews to mainstream newspapers.
Latha Rajinikanth hyped the film by saying: “I will be catching the film’s FDFS (first day first show). Since marriage, it’s been a tradition for me to watch all Rajinikanth films FDFS and that will continue this year as well. I do that for the euphoria and to experience the joy of being with the people.”
Soundarya feels that Kochadaiiyaan India’s first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated movie is an attempt to “immortalise her father”. Latha and Soundarya will be jointly doing an interview for a television channel as the film gets ready to hit the screens on May 9.
