Rajinikanth is back from his US trip and met the media outside his Poes Garden residence in Chennai. When reporters said that audiences are happy seeing the vintage Rajinikanth, the actor said: “Audiences have somehow liked the film. It’s my job to make them happy”.

Rajinikanth also praised Karthik Subbaraj saying “All the credits must go to Karthik Subbaraj. He pushed me to perform like that”. Superstar, however, refused to answer the question on when he would take the political plunge.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Petta has grossed nearly 750k$ in the US (premieres and Thursday and still counting) and in Chennai box office, the film grossed Rs 1.12 cr rupees on day one. Sources say that Rajinikanth’s next after Petta will be a film with director AR Murugadoss.
