Superstar Rajinikanth is in Mumbai to pay his final respects to actress Sridevi who breathed her last on Saturday in Dubai. The actress suffered an unexpected cardiac arrest in her hotel room at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Sridevi’s body is expected to be flown back to India, today.

Anil Ambani has arranged his private jet to bring back Sridevi’s mortal remains. After tweeting his condolence message, Kamal Haasan also posted an emotional video to bid adieu to his co-star with whom he had acted in 27 films including classics like 16 Vayadhinile, Moondram Pirai, Sigappu Rojakkal and Varumayin Niram Sivappu.

“Sridevi Kapoor's astounding talent was not luck. It was well deserved and she worked for it from her childhood. I've known her from her teens. She was still a child when she came to work with me and Mr. Balachander, my mentor, who sometimes gave me the responsibility of working with her, correcting her acting and shaping even her dance moves. When she came, she was not as talented as what she later became. But she learned every day. I was astounded by her climb. And every step of it, she worked for. She was very fond of me. I'm also very fond of her. Our paths diverged when she became a superstar in Hindi. She has acted in almost all the languages in India and in about 27 films with me”, said Kamal, who showered praise on Sridevi’s commitment saying “The kind of dedication she had matched mine. We were working continuously together that our personal lives were on the periphery”.

Kamal ended her emotional note saying that although they were not prone to show emotion but somehow hugged each other last month. “I think I saw her last month. We were not prone to showing emotion but somehow, we both hugged each other. I'm very grateful for that hug. Sadma song rings in my ears now, I think that’s a great lullaby for the talented and beautiful Sridevi, she had a happy life. My deepest condolences to the family. I know how much Sridevi loved her daughter, I used to make fun of that. The child is going to miss her now. Hold on and hang in there Boney. I’m sorry”, said the actor.
