Speaking at the success meet of Taramani, director Ram said “I’m here in the industry for ten years and if I'm not wrong, my producer JSK and heroine Andrea have also completed one decade in Kollywood. But for the first time in my career, distributors and theater owners are calling me over the phone to say that audiences are coming to theaters to watch my film, they say that Taramani is having a good run at the box office”, said Ram.
The director said on a lighter note: “To understand Kattrathu Tamizh, it took ten years for people and I was skeptical whether Taramani would work. Thankfully, the 3.5 years shoot of Taramani perfectly made our audiences to related to the film. In fact, when I started writing the script of Taramani, there was no WhatsApp so we added it only in the second half”.
"The delay also gave me sleepless nights because Mani Ratnam's O Kadhal Kanmani talked about the live-in relationship and Iraivi talked about feminism so I thought Taramani will be outdated and it has to be shelved", said the director.
Talking about his heroine Andrea, Ram said: “ Annayum Rasoolum, Taramani, Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai and Mysskin’s Thupparivalan will up memorable characters for Andrea in her career. I’ve seen some of the scenes in Vada Chennai but can’t reveal the suspense elements here. Andrea is a great team player, she encouraged debutant Vasanth Ravi to perform in tough scenes and as an actress, she is capable of performing her scenes in single shot”.
“Vasanth Ravi is a doctor by profession and he also has a great interest in movies, he learned acting from Anupam Kher’s school”, revealed Ram at the event, the director is currently busy with Mammootty's Peranbu.
