Mammootty’s Rajamanickam in 45 stations and Santhosh Sivan’s Ananthabhadram in 37 centres have taken a fantastic opening all over Kerala.

Ananthabhadram is going houseful from day one with upper class and lady audience rooting for it. At Ajantha theatre in Trivandrum, tickets for three days were sold in advance something unheard of, for a film without Mohanlal, Mammootty or Dileep.

Rajamanickam has opened bigger, playing six shows in 9 centres in Malabar area and drawing houseful crowds. People seem to be enjoying Mammootty’s Trivandrum lingo and his jokes.

The two surprise releases for Ramzan were the long-delayed Jayaram film Sarkar Dadaand Hariharan’s Mayookham, turning out to be wash-outs! Both these films will not even recover the cost of its prints!
