[India]. Feb 22 (ANI): Renowned Tollywood director Kodi Ramakrishna expired due to ill health.
Kodi Ramakrishna has born in Palakollu Village of West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh and started his career as a director in Tollywood with the film ‘Intlo Ramayya Vidhilo Krishnaih.’
Ramakrishna directed over hundred films including ‘Ammoru,’ ‘Ankusam,’ ‘Shatruvu,’ ‘Arundhati,’ ‘Tarangini Thalambralu,’ ‘Aahuti’ among others.
He also received many awards for his films.
Known as a master in directing horror films, his last Telugu film was ‘Avataram’ which released in 2014.
Ramakrishna was suffering from ill health since last few days and was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Hyderabad.
He expired today in the hospital while undergoing treatment.
Several actors took to Twitter to mourn over the loss of the director.
Actor Sudheer Babu took to his Twitter account and wrote, "We lost a pioneer. A visionary filmmaker who discovered the potentiality for VFX films on Telugu Screen. #Ammoru & #Arundhati are my personal favorites. #KodiRamakrishna Garu will be missed. My deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace."
Rana Daggubati too tweeted, "#RIPKodiRamaKrishnagaru."
The final rites are going to be performed by his family members tomorrow in Mahaprasthanam (Burial Ground) in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. (ANI)
