It has been Ram Gopal Varma’s dream to make a film on the rowdy wars in Vijayawada. In the wake of the murder of Telugu Desam Party leader Chalasani Pandu, rowdy factionism has become the hot topic in Andhra Pradesh again.

So, Ram Gopal Varma announces that he would make a new film on this topic set against the backdrop of Vijayawada and its rowdy politics. Titled Bejawada Rowdilu, this new film would be his next movie in Telugu as soon as he finishes his Appalraju with Sunil.

In fact, the idea for RGV’s maiden film, Shiva, came from rowdy politics in the Vijayawada city but he made the movie in the backdrop of Hyderabad for wider reach. Now he focuses on the city where he did his Engineering. Cast and other crew will be announced shortly.

“I have a long association with the city of Vijaywada. I have been closely watching the city’s rowdies and their wars since I did my Engineering course in Siddhartha Engineering College. Indeed genesis for Shiva came from the rowdy wars in the city but Shiva would be pale in comparison with the movie that I am going to shoot now. The Hyderabad rowdies are nothing in front of the organized crime mentality of Vijaywada rowdies. After showing Mumbai Mafia and Rayalaseema Factionism on silver screen, I am going to expose world of rowdies of Vijaywada. We are in the final stages of scripting of the film,” RGV said in a press note.
