Nivin Pauly’s first straight Tamil film ‘Richie’ has been censored with UA certificate. Touted to be a neo-noir crime drama, Richie is the remake of Kannada cult classic Ulidavaru Kandanthe. Rakshit Shetty wrote, directed and played the lead role in the original Kannada version, which won several awards and it was a massive hit in Sandalwood.
Debutant Gautham Ramachandran has directed Richie, the film also has Shraddha Srinath, cinematographer turned actor Natty and Prakash Raj in important roles.
Sources say that Richie is based on a murder investigation narrated in the point of view of five different people. The film is slated to release in Tamil on December 8.
