Popular comedy actor and radio jockey is debuting as a hero in the political satire 'LKG'. While interacting with the media in Chennai, Balaji revealed the shocking situation of politician Nanjil Sampath who plays a pivotal role in the film.
"I thought it would be great if Nanjil Sampath plays an important role in the film. When I called and went to his residence, it was a small 600 square feet housing board flat. After narrating the script, Sampath sir's only condition was that I should pay his son's college fee! First we called him to play the role of a politician with negative shades but later, based on his real life we change his characterization in the film", said RJ Balaji.
Often Sampath was trolled for his Innova car gifted by late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and people think that he leads a luxurious life but Balaji's speech revealed the real condition of the the politician.
Sampath has also been roped in to play an important role in Sivakarthikeyan’s second production venture. Balaji also said that despite strong political content, local parties are not giving free publicity as he is not a big star like Rajini, Kamal, Vijay and Ajith. Sivaji Ganesan's elder son Ram Kumar also plays an important role in LKG along with Priya Anand.
Balaji also said how a one-film-old director didn't even meet him. "His first film was a flop but he didn't want to direct LKG", said Balaji.
LKG is all set to release on February 22.
