The memoir written by Samantha Geimer, the woman who was raped by Polish-French director Roman Polanski in 1977 is courting controversy after its cover was unveiled.
The cover of the book, 'The Girl: A Life in the Shadow of Roman Polanski,' is an image of close-up shot of the 13-year-old Geimer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Geimer's image was taken by the 'Chinatown' director in 1977, less than three weeks before he drugged and raped her at Jack Nicholson's house, the New York Daily News reported.
In the photo, Geimer can be seen looking directly into the camera with her lips slightly parted.
Polanski took the snap at Geimer's home before coaxing her to pose topless in some photos. (ANI)
