Rosapoo review: An average comedy which tries hard to make you laugh
A no holds barred comedy and has its moments here and there

Biju Menon, Neeraj Madhav, Anjali
Director Vinu Joseph’s Rosapoo is a comedy flick that talks about a group of friends who plan to earn some fast bucks by making an adult rated movie.
Shajahan (Biju Menon) is in real trouble and doesn’t know where to turn to for some money. He has done some businesses earlier but none of them succeeded and he is neck deep in debts.
His friend Ambrose (Neeraj Madhav) works in a local TV channel and dreams of becoming a director someday. The situation of their gang of friends go from bad to worse as they follow the ideas from Bhanu MBA (Basil Joseph).
Finally, they decide to make an Adult movie, featuring some of the known sex sirens. The rest of the movie is about their struggles as Shajahan becomes the producer and Ambrose, the director.
Pad Man review: Akshay shines in this public service film | Savarakathi review: A warm and welcoming film | Boy and the World review: A vibrant and dazzling marvel | Inttelligent review: Doesn't have a single sequence that can be appreciated | Kalakalappu-2 review: Will take you to a happy zone | Tholi Prema review: A romantic comedy with catchy music
There are quite a few characters aimed at tickling the funny bone, which includes production controller Sajeer (Soubin Shahir), scenarist V T Sankar (Salim Kumar), associate director Narayanan (Nirmal Palazhy), co-producer Venugopal Menon (Alancier), actor Kuttan (Dileesh Pothen), financier Velayudhan (Vijayaraghavan)and so on.
Tamil star Anjali plays an actress named Reshmi, who falls for Ambrose.
With an average script, the director tries every trick in the book to generate comedy by all means, which includes double meaning dialogues in plenty.
In all fairness, there is a promising storyline and though the makers have not really succeeded in using it to the maximum, they have managed to keep the viewers entertained.
Among the actors, Biju Menon shines with his style and Neeraj performs earnestly. Soubin and Alancier are funny in parts. Anjali has a limited role to play.
Rosapoo is meant to be a no holds barred comedy and has its moments here and there. If you are ready to forget logic and have some fun at the cinemas, try your luck.
