She wants to understand each other before they become lovers.
What happens when Sanju and Tanvi see each other regularly follows the rest of the movie.
Director Praveen Sattaru's second film, Routine Love Story, focuses on the relationship of a young couple. The film looks routine at the same time it gives a fresh feel. It doesn't follow the conventional pattern of story telling. That is novel.
The movie goes on dwelling on unimportant facets of a relationship or daily life which seem boring for many but if we consider why a film should be focused on `heavy` scenes, then it gives a meaning to this whole exercise.
Also the film is 'light' both in content and emotional aspect. In fact, there is hardly any emotion in the romantic track. Director Praveen Sattaru focuses on silly fights, makeups and breakups of lovers.
The best scenes in the film are the river cruise scene in Ladakh and a married guy giving lecture to the hero about women`s mind. The entire comedy track - Tagubothu Ramesh's and MS Narayana's `Jungle Mein Mangle` - is silly and doesn't add to the story.
The film appeals to the youth and those who are game for unconventional story telling.
Regina Cassendra makes the best impression among the cast. She's gorgeous and has an infectious smile and she's has comes up with fine expressions.
Sundeep Kishan is decent and shares good chemistry with Regina. Jhansi in her brief role comes up with a brilliant act.
Although Mickey J Meyer's music gives the feeling of deja vu, two songs lift the mood of the movie
Camera work is neat. Director Praveen Sattaru's strength, it seems, is telling the story with natural flair. Some of the dialogues he's written are too good. He should focus on the pace of the movie, though. Editing should have been crispier. Although the film has run time of 124 minutes, with the slow pace, it seems too lengthy.
Routine Love Story is a fresh love story. Those who are game for movies with unconventional story telling would definitely like this. For majority of the audiences, this may seem like a movie where hardly anything happens and the story doesn`t go forward.
This `free-flow` of narration may only appeal to niche audiences.
