Rs 20 for cars & Rs 10 for two-wheelers as parking fee in theatres

Movie watching had become a costly affair mainly because of the snacks and parking rates in theaters. Recently, representatives from Tamil Film Producers Council met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to fix nominal parking rates for theaters across the state.

Now, Tamil Nadu Government has passed an order and according to which, theaters located in Corporation can collect Rs 20 for cars and Rs 10 for two-wheelers. In Municipalities, car parking charge is Rs 15 and Rs 7 for two-wheelers. In Panchayats, theaters should only collect Rs 5 for cars and Rs 3 for two-wheelers.

Netizens and Tamil Film Producers are excited about this new parking rates and thanked Tamil Nadu Government. "Delighted to share this Good News !!!TN State Govt regulates Parking rates in Theaters....Car - ₹ 20 2-wheeler - ₹ 10 Cycle - Free”, tweeted Vishal, President of TFPC.

SR Prabhu, producer and Treasurer of TFPC tweeted “We whole-heartedly thank the state government & Honourable CM for accepting TFPC's request to regulate the parking fees in theatres & Malls for the good of Tamil film lovers and film industry!”.
