Ganesh and Deepa Sannidhi starrer Sakkare has had a state wise release and has got mixed responses. The movie which had created the required hype, travels at a speed of 10 kms per hour. An adaptation of one of O. Henry's short stories - The Last Leaf, Sakkare is an abortive attempt by the director. The movie shows a lover boy image of Ganesh, while he displays the usual chirpy image.
Vineeth is a young and energetic guy who has a Good Samaritan attitude. He manages to make people around him happy by his conversation. Neha is an obstinate girl who has had not just one love failure, but three. Every single time she loses her love she tries to commit suicide, but in vain. Neha happens to come to her sister's (Anu Prabhakar) house in Coorg to come out of depression and her sister provides her the necessary emotional support.
Vineeth is seen as a neighbor of Neha's sister. So it is expected for them to meet. Though initially Neha is irritated with Vineeth's behavior, she accepts him as a friend gradually. Vineeth helps Neha come out of her depression and also narrates his love story. What happens next has to be watched onscreen. There are two parallel love stories running in the movie; one between Anantnag and VinayaPrasad and the other one between Anu Prabhakar and Rajesh.
The story weakens too often to uphold the interest. Ganesh is seen in his usual lover boy image and nothing more than that. Deepa Sannidhi has managed to pull off a role that she had done in her previous movie Paramathma.
Anantnag, VinayaPrasad, AnuPrabhakar, Rajesh, Achyuth Kumar have done their roles professionally. Though the screenplay seems interesting, it has not been executed as expected. Director Abhay Simha needs to improvise on the execution part before he can take up the next project. Music by Harikrishna and Cinematography by Dr. Vikram Srivatsava are the key highlights of the movie.
Verdict: slow paced movie
