Darshan's Kranti Veera Sangolli Raayanna produced by Anand Appugol and directed by Naganna had a huge opening.
The film obtained an earth shattering opening on day one which coincided with the Karnataka Rajyothsava day. Despite continuous rain fall throughout the state, the film had all the shows full in all 130 single screens and multiplexes screening the film.
The collections in the multiplexes have surprised the trade pundits as Darshan is considered the Sultan of Huge Openings in single screens. However, when the multiplexes increased the number of shows for KVSR it became evident that the multiplexes had to respond to the increasing demand of the Kannada film fans.
If the collections of KVSR remain constant in the coming weeks, then it would mean producers may not hesitate to make more periodical films. And since the existing producers may not go in for huge budget films, many new comers may venture into making big budget extravaganzas. This may be possible if the final picture about KVSR emerges after the film completes four to five weeks of running.
The huge openings for KVSR followed by the success of films like Kanchana and Snehitharu is a good development indeed for the Kannada film industry.
