India’s leading cinematographer Santosh Sivan shared a meme on Twitter saying that producers are not having the big heart to pay their technicians but they happily offer good remuneration to heroines. Santosh faced the heat from Tamil film industry for this meme, especially from J Satish Kumar, producer of Thanga Meenkal and Taramani.

“Which movie was hit because of you alone? Shame on your tweet. Don't make cheap comments on producers, lots of youngsters are more talented than you. I strongly condemn. You don't know the pain of a producer who invests without knowing what will be the result #ban#santoshsivan”, tweeted Satish Kumar who also spoke to Santosh Sivan over the phone and sorted out the issue.

After Satish Kumar’s call, Santosh Sivan deleted the meme and posted: “The Tweet, a forward a in english, I deleted, since its objectionable to so many well meaning producers. And it doesn’t really mean anything (sic)”.

Santosh is known for his exemplary works in films like Iruvar, Roja, and he has also handled cinematography for Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
