Sarkar: Overseas and Tamil Nadu shows to begin simultaneously

Last Updated: Thu, Nov 01, 2018 11:59 hrs

The latest update from sources close to Sun Pictures is that the first show of Sarkar will commence between 4 AM and 5 AM across the globe. Sun Pictures want the first show to begin only in Tamil Nadu and not in any other foreign country to avoid piracy.

The idea is that same day same time release will help the film from instant social media reviews. Sun Pictures will give the KDM only after 12.01 am on Tuesday, as some shows like Melbourne premiere of the film has been slotted at 8 AM local time, which is five and half hours ahead of India time.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, theater owners in Tamil Nadu tell us that they are planning to begin the first show of the Sarkar at 4.30 AM. Almost 90% of the theaters in the state will be playing the Vijay starrer as there is no big competition for the film and the demand is massive because of the skyrocketing expectations. Vijay Antony's Thimiru Pudichavan has been postponed indefinitely.

Early estimates say that Sarkar will be releasing in more than 3000 screens actors the globe. Other than the Tamil version, the film’s Telugu dubbed version will also simultaneously releasing on Diwali day in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
