Director Sasikumar is all excited about the release of his new action thriller film Asuravadham. “I play a fearless youngster who works in Gulf and comes back to India for his family. Here, the action sequences would be realistic and even while fighting, I was particular that there should not be any pain on my face. A pouncing tiger would not show fear in its face. Of course, there were few injuries but it’s a part of any live stunt action sequence,” said Sasikumar.
“But you will not see the usual Sasikumar in Asuravadham. I didn’t follow my routine mannerism, expression and dialogue delivery in Asuravadham. I completed the first half of dubbing in ten minutes. As the genre is an action thriller, there is no lengthy dialogue for me. Though I’m waiting for unique scripts, directors coming up with stories like Sundarapandian and Kuttipuli but this film would change their perception,” he added.
“The trailer showcases the violence quotient but Asuravadham also has a family angle. In city films, you call subtle comedy as black humour. In the village, we don’t have any specific name for the comedy but you will experience it in Asuravadham," says Sasi who lauds his cinematographer SR Kathir, music composer Govind Vasanth and action choreographer Dhilip for their collective effort.

Asked him if misses ‘director’ Sasikumar, he said “Of course, yes. But I’m very clear that my directorial films should not have actor Sasikumar. The director in me involves all my heroic films and I would discuss with all my directors.”
Even when I was in the seventh standard, wanted to become a director because he can control everyone on the sets. “I’ve to come out of my commitments to get back to majestic director’s chair. Because as a filmmaker, I shouldn’t think about any external factors and my concentration should only on the script. Cinema is a passion for me so there shouldn’t be any distraction. As a filmmaker, I don’t like to rush things and work at my own pace and there shouldn't be any compromise,” said Sasikumar.
Sasikumar also confirmed that he plays an extended cameo in Dhanush and Gautham Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thota. “I’m yet to shoot for the film so I can’t reveal my look and characterization,” said Sasikumar who already told Gautham that he can’t get rid of his trademark beard because of his acting commitments. Sasikumar has also finished shooting for Nadodigal 2 with his good friend Samuthirakani.
Nadodigal 2 is not a continuation from the first part. In the original version, my character name is Karunakaran, in the second part, my name is Jeevanandham," said the Subramaniapuram director. Sasikumar will start shooting for Enai Nokki Paayum Thota in July.
