The success of Nanban has brought back smiles on Sathyan’s face.

The comedian who was doing inconspicuous side-kick roles till now, got a meaty role (played by Omi Vaidya in the original 3 Idiots) of an irritating nerd who made it big in life and is pivotal in bringing the three heroes together.

After receiving accolades for his role and keeping the funny bone tickling all through this lengthy role, Sathyan is a happy man.

More luck has come his way as Sathyan is now playing another important role in Murugadoss directed Thuppaaki in which Vijay is the hero.

Says an elated Sathyan, “Director Murgadoss  saw me during the Nanban shoot and liked my performance. One of the associate directors also suggested my name to him and he was impressed with the shots he saw. So even before Nanban was completed, he signed me on for Thuppakki with Vijay.”

The actor is thrilled that he gets to play yet another important role as Vijay’s friend in the film. Looks like it’s a good year for Sathyan who was missing from the scene for a while.
