The trailer of Sivakarthikeyan’s most anticipated rural action entertainer Seema Raja was launched on Saturday at a star hotel here in Chennai.
At the launch event, Sivakarthikeyan said: “Until now, I maintained the period flashback portion in the film as a surprise. I grew a thick beard and didn’t cut my hair that even some of my friends asked whether anything bad happened in my life. First, I shed weight and later bulked up to play the Tamil king. The trailer shot is being compared with Baahubali which is a proud moment for us. I play a Tamil king in the film which is again a rare opportunity for an actor”.
Sivakarthikeyan said that Tamil audiences have given him a market and he wants the invested budget to be witnessed on the screen. The actor also heaped praised on Soori for his fit physique. “Here there is no unwritten rule that only a few can act as the protagonist. Anyone can become whatever they want in the industry”, said Siva who also clarified that he is not competing with anyone in the industry and travels in his own path.
The film’s heroine Samantha said that she doesn’t feel tensed about Seema Raja’s box office performance. “I know for sure that Sivakarthikeyan-Ponram-Soori combo will not fail at the box office. I’m pretty much relaxed and looking forward to watching the film. I should thank Sivakarthikeyan for being a wonderful co-star and entire team for their cooperation”, said Samantha.
Director Ponram who delivered two hits ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’ and ‘Rajini Murugan’ with Sivakarthikeyan said that he wanted to do something different from the previous two projects of the actor. “In this film, we have talked about the pride of Tamils and the fight for their land. Even now, we Tamils are fighting for our land against Government”, said Ponram.
Produced by RD Raja’s 24 AM Studios, Seema Raja is all set to release on September 13. The trailer of the film is rightly packed with comedy, action, punch dialogues and the end shot features Sivakarthikeyan as a brave king which raised the expectations to a different level.
