They are in town for the opening of the Indian Film Festival - which will be held from June 11 to 22.
"As the film releases on June 22, the Melbourne Festival will close with a private screening," said Kunal. "It's an honour for us."
"We will be guests of the State of Victoria, Australia, and also have lunch at Melbourne Cricket Ground," the producer-director added. "All of us are cricket buffs so it will be thrilling to be there."
Shahid also took to Twitter, posting: "Just landed in Melbourne. My first time in Australia but just for a day for Teri Meri Kahaani promotions."
"It's a whole new ball game ;-) @priyankachopra @shahidkapoor at @melbournefc"
