If sources are to be believed, Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ will not be releasing this year.

The team is struggling hard to get the desired final output due to various reasons including the last minute bankruptcy announcement from Tau Films, the VFX company which was initially roped in to take care of the CG works in ‘2.0’. The team later distributed the CG shots to various companies across the globe but as they have to start everything from the scratch, the budget has been increased by minimum 150cr and the release date is also got pushed now from August 2018 to January 2019.

Produced by Lyca, maverick filmmaker Shankar has completed the shoot long back but his biggest worry is the CG work in the film. Being a perfectionist, Shankar expects 100% output but the CG team couldn’t match up to his expectations.

Besides Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson are also playing pivotal characters in the film.
